Today i was walking along the main road between Derby and Nottingham , as you can imagine it was very grey and busy as main A(trunk) roads are, my walk was meant to take me 50 minutes to do , it is very straight with afew small bends but mainly straight as it is an old roman road that is noted in the Domesday book.
Well anyway i got to the point in my walk when it started to rain and i noticed a Rainbow, which looked beautiful , from where i was stood i could see the whole , complete arc.
Well being in good easily led spirits at the time and anxious to get out of the rain which i could see was gaining on me, with the clouds approaching from behind looking all the more menacing and grey, i decided to try to get to the end of the rainbow , at the end where the sun was still shining brightly.
And No! i havent fallen out of any really tall trees lately , but thought i would entertain the idea of following the rainbow , and it led me down to the River Trent , which is really close to my house, and is actually one of my favourite places on this planet, i stopped to see a Robin perched on a branch and felt like we connected. I read a post on here from Avalonlady and was reminded of this.
At one point and due to the heat that was still around , i had to stop on a couple of occaisions to scratch my ahems! (im a bloke , it was hot , it is what we do)lol , and at these times the rain caught me up and rather than being narked off that i was now in the rain , i was really rather pleased.
On one side of the canal path there is a lake that is a flooded old quary and on the right hand side was the river Trent, and it seemed to me , in the moments the rain had caught up with me that the rain was in a mad frenzied dance as it re-entered the river and lake and danced along the paths. It really was rather magnificent, despite the fact that the Rainbow evaded me! lol
I did however make it to my brothers house after walking the path for an hour and 20 minutes and we did make it to the pub , and had a rather good chat about various family issues and concerns, which in its own way seems to me like i found the end of the rainbow as we talked about various things that needed talking about and we both admitted , had avoided somewhat recently.
